Abstract

The study aimed at identifying the degree to which the students of Level IV, Faculty of Education, Sheba Region University, Yemen, practice some life skills from their point of view. The researcher used the descriptive method in the study; and to achieve the objectives of the study, he prepared a questionnaire composed of 55 skills distributed into five main domains: the skills of collaborative team work, the skills of self-management and dealing with pressure, the skills of thinking and decision-making, the skills of communication and information technology, and the preventive and environmental skills. The researcher distributed the questionnaire to a group of experts to verify its validity. He also used Cronbach’s alpha coefficient to measure its reliability. The values of Cronbach’s alpha coefficient of the reliability for the questionnaire as whole as well as its five domains were (0.86, 0.78, 0.89, 0.93, 0.84 and 0.85).


The questionnaire was administered to a sample of (84) male and female students of level four from sciences and human studies departments. The study reached various results. The most important result was that the degree to which the students, the sample of the study, practice life skills from their point of view was generally limited
