Seduction of Place in Hadhrami Narrative "The Girl of Garut and The Yellow Windows" as a Modal: Analytical Study د. علي حسن علوي العيدروس

Abstract

This research aims at understanding the effect of "seduction" in the immigrant place, the local place, and the resulting of connotations, displacements, paradoxes, and intertextuality on the level of title and narrator, individuals and spawning of places as narrative techniques. Thus the levels of seduction are formed as the research can achieve through its critical approach goals such as: the relationship between history and place and the extent of its influence on the level of seduction, the relationship of the immigrant culture and the extent of its influence on the level of seduction, and the disclosure of symbolic connotations of the names of individuals in the two novels. To achieve these goals, the researcher uses on his critical approach the descriptive and semantic procedures. The structural approach is also used as a requirement of reading the two novels to reveal the semantic relationships produced by seduction in place. The study has various findings and the most important results are the local city is an exorcist for life, love and peace, whereas the immigrant city is attractive for life, love and peace. Nevertheless the seduction in place passes through fissures, there is a severe level of contradictions including the presence of semantic paradoxes in the transferrable individuals’ names and places.Key words: Novel, Garut, windows, seduction, immigrant.
