Abstract

 


The global challenges facing the teaching and learning process are varied, and the most important of these challenges is the Fourth Industrial Revolution, which imposes profound changes that must be adapted to an integrated educational system, and with a flexible qualifications framework, so as to open horizons for future generations towards continuing education, and educational institutions capable of keeping pace with technological development, leadership and teachers Are able to prepare their students for the Fourth Industrial Revolution.


The research sought to discuss aspects of development that should occur in the educational system in the Sultanate of Oman by addressing what is meant by the Fourth Industrial Revolution and its most prominent characteristics and implications on the education system, the extent of the interaction of the countries of the Arab world with its requirements, and the nature of the interaction of the Sultanate of Oman with it through Oman Vision 2040 to keep pace with the requirements of The Fourth Industrial Revolution.


The study concluded that the Fourth Industrial Revolution, as it penetrated all areas of life, will bring about profound changes in the educational system with all its elements, which imposes on those concerned with education in the Sultanate of Oman roles and responsibilities and thus new mechanisms to develop the education system in terms of designing a flexible qualifications framework that facilitates the transition to the market. Work and recognizes informal education, developing educational institutions in terms of technological infrastructure, building the capabilities of their employees, developing the roles of educational leaders and the roles of teachers in accordance with the concepts and requirements of the fourth industrial revolution, and developing curricula in line with the developments of the fourth industrial revolution in the fields of: robotics, artificial intelligence, and nanotechnology , Quantum computing, biotechnology, Internet of Things (IoT), 3D printing, and autonomous vehicles.
