Abstract

The Omani novel has witnessed right from its beginning until now artistic developments as far as the subject or the trends whether the historical trend or the social trend or the mysterious trend or the feminist trend or the politician trend or the science fiction or at the level of the structure that is to say at the narration level. In fact, the narration and its techniques have varied that is to say between description ( description of the characters ,place and time and dialogue, external and internal dialogue: Which promotes narration in the novel. We can say that most of the Omani novels essentially the modern ones approach the novels of the awareness trend like all the Arabic novels. Therefore, this trend and its techniques dominates the body of the Omani novel. In this framework of this study, we try to describe the nature of the narration and essentially the structure of the internal dialogue and its forms through the following questions: *what do we mean by the internal dialogue in the Omani novel? *What are the genres of the internal dialogue in the Omani novel ? and its nature? *and how this dialogue and its genre Participate in developing narration in the novel ? This study aims at achieving some objectives like: *acknowledgement of the genres of the internal dialogue through some examples taken from the Omani novels *description the genres of the dialogue. *emphasising its role in developing narration Taking into consideration the descriptive analytical method ,taken from some of the texts ,representing the phenomenon (ladders by Huda Hamed,Bar Hakman by yunus Akhzaami ,Safar Ghouwaya by Rached Jadidi ,Jebel Show by Zahran qasmi) This study comes to the conclusion that the Omani novels have developed in its subject and trends and also in its narrative structure. The Omani novel does not only rely on traditional forms of the dialogue ,but it varies its forms of The dialogue . Therefore, the internal dialogue ( the subject of this study ) has taken more than a form ,sometimes in the form of Spoken internal dialogue and sometimes non spoken or in the form Of artistic flashback or the stream of consciousness or in the form of dreams or monologue.
