This research aimed at studying and investigating the manuscript titled: “A message whose soul has passed on the two verse of al-Rakmatain” by Siry al-Din Mohammed ibn Ibrahim al-Dururi (1066 AH.). It is an important linguistic message that addresses a grammatical-semantic problem that appears in the understanding and interpreting of the two verse of al-Rakmatain, and Majnoon said Layla: “As for the one who fell in love with Layla and left her visit…”; As it resulted in a difference in the directives of linguists. In this letter, the author lists ten opinions of linguists. These opinions try to address that problem, then he followed it with three directions, which the author believes are the closest in understanding and interpreting the problem at hand.
To achieve the aim of this research, the researchers used the historical inductive method in knowing the author and the manuscript and the validity of its attribution to him. The researchers also used the descriptive method in presenting the author's approach and explaining his style, while benefiting from the documentary approach in attributing the work's quotes and references to their context.
. The nature of the research necessitated dividing it into two parts: the first included two sections, the first dealt with the study of the author, and the second dealt with the study of the message. As for the second section, it dealt with the scientific investigation of the text of the letter. Then a conclusion with the most important findings and recommendations. The researchers reached a number of results, the most important of which are:
i. The two verse of al-Rakmatain are among the poetic texts that were a matter of contention among many linguists, philologists, and grammarians. In their combination of semantic openness, multiple readings.
ii. It is found through the grammatical and semantic directives mentioned by the author, the influence of theology and the data of Aristotelian logic on some grammatical opinions.
iii. The Sufi semantic use of these two verses is what gave them those semantic dimensions that nominated them for this high literary position.
iv. The semantic function of the different grammar chapters appeared in the treatment of the linguistic phenomenon.
