Abstract

This study aims at investigating the impact of the successiveness of the training methods in developing the skills of producing the educational software of the students of Computer Tutor using the Articulate Storyline. The researcher designed two methods of training. The first is (exposure to the model - watching a video segment - the treatment) and the second is (watching a video segment - exposure to the model - the treatment). To find out which one could bring about better results, he experimented the two methods with 52 fourth year students of Computer Tutor, Faculty of Education, Hodeidah University 2015-2016. He divided the students into two identical groups, first group and second group. He experimented the first method with the first group and the second method with the second group. The researcher used the following research tools: pretest, posttest and observation checklist. The purpose of the pretest was to assess the students' proficiency and so divide them equally into two groups based on their proficiency. The purpose of the observation checklist was to assess their practical skills that are related to the educational software production using the Articulate Storyline. The purpose of the posttest was to find out the statistical differences at (0.05) among the scores of the two groups to find out their achievement as to the production of the educational software using the Articulate Storyline. The study concluded with the following findings: • Based on the results of the posttest, the achievement and the practical skills of the first group which was subjected to the first method (exposure to the model - watching a video segment - the treatment) was better than the achievement and the practical skills of the second group which was subjected to the second method (watching a video segment - exposure to the model - the treatment). The study recommended incorporating the modern educational programs design in the related courses of Computer Tutor like the multimedia and program design. However, such programs should be in compliance with electronical publication criteria of LMS. It is also important to help the students make use of the educational design models to benefit from the learning theories related to the design and the production of the educational programs in presenting the content based on such theories.
