Abstract

The aim of this study to assess the feasibility of the application of TQM in Yemeni universities Case Study Hodeidah University and determine the extent of awareness and understanding of senior management university and faculty members to the concept of total quality management., Knowledge and identify the difficulties and challenges facing the implementation of total quality management in Yemeni universities - the University of Hodeidah - and ways to overcome them. The study population consisted of all faculty members and university leadership and Yemenis who occupy leadership and managerial positions in various colleges and University's (100) Single, and then study the kind represented in the comprehensive inventory of the study population. The study relied on inductive approach through survey references, research and scientific conferences relevant Arab ones and foreign, which is available to the researcher using the style descriptive analytical study data primary and secondary TEMPhas been field data collection through a questionnaire designed by the researcher based on metrics studies previous work in this area so as to measure the achievement of the objectives of the study and testing of hypotheses. As study data were analyzed using the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS), in addition to the use of statistical methods appropriate descriptive study to measure the goals and testing hypotheses. The study found a number of results, notably weak awareness concept of total quality management at the University of Hodeidah on the level of faculty members and the leadership of the university, and the weakness of the commitment and support of senior management of the University and poor attention to training and staff development and their participation in the programs and plans of quality, and the presence of constraints and real difficulties facing the process of applying quality management overall at the University of Hodeidah. study provided a set of recommendations in the light of the results that have been reached.
