Abstract

The study aimed to identify the competencies teaching of English teachers as reflected in classroom performance evaluation for teachers of this stage. The study sample consisted of (120) teachers in junior high schools , a questionnaire was developed as study tool, it consists from four fields (the field of lesson planning, the field of implementation, field of classroom management, and the field of teacher personality) . The study showed many results: 1) The competencies of lesson planning wif English language teachers showed a lack of experienced teachers in the planning of experiences to suit the characteristics of the preparatory stage. 2) There is a weakness wif English teachers for the preparatory phase about skill and awareness questions relate to the objectives of the lesson. 3) There is a weakness in competencies of the lesson plan implementation and requirements by English teachers. 4) competencies of classroom management was ranked first in the English language teachers for the preparatory phase. 5) there were no statistically significant differences at the level (05,0) between the performance of qualified and non-qualified educators in all fields of teaching skills. 6) there were statistically significant differences at the level (05,0) between the level of teaching competencies based on the sex variable and for the benefits of female 7) There are no statistically significant differences at the level of (05,0) between the level of teaching competencies based on the years of experience variable. In light of these findings the study recommended a number of recommendations: 1) give the teaching competencies more attention in the programmes of English teachers preparation by the educational institution. 2) give attention for the English language curriculum to achieve long-term and short educational goals. 3) work to establish workshops for teacher during service through a scientific plan.
