Abstract

The food industry structure which is based on geographical considerations is the main factor for the economic changes in Hadhramout Governorate. These industries which have the strategy of self sufficiency, are suitable for the local market since they require a lot of unemployees and depend on local agricultural raw materials. Hadhramout Governorate is one of the most important governorates in the Republic of Yemen in which food industry is found. This study investigates the current state of the structure of the food industries in this governorate through showing the development of the geographical state for the product indicators at the level of the state and province. These product indicators have been analyzed using some quantitative analyses (geographical and statistical analyses) to show the levels of industrial uses, the level of the specializations of these industries and their relative importance so as to determine the economic weight for all the branches of food industries in Hadhramout Governorate.
