Abstract

This paper illustrates the five sense organs - hearing, tasting, smelling, vision and feeling – in the Holy Quran. There are a lot of great things in the human body that Allah swear with. The Creator, Allah, creates human being in a good shape getting his food with his hands. The paper speaks about these five senses and guides us to use them in the correct way to worship Allah Ta’ala. It speaks about the connection between the brain and these five senses in a way that each of them completes the other. The Holy Quran mentions the hearing sense and its types in 109 locations. It speaks about hearing separately and combined it with vision in other situations. The Creator puts to man two lamps on the top of his head and clarifies the kinds of seeing. It shows the sense of smelling and tasting and the importance of them. The Holy Quran, besides, illustrates the sense of feeling and how we feel things .It speaks about thumb prints - banan - which proved to be evidence in identifying personalities nowadays. The paper clarifies the concern of Islam towards these senses and how to keep and take care of them through a lot of guidance that our Prophet Mohammed – peace be upon him – puts for us in the preventive health care. Islam obliged the necessity of paying the blood money – deyah – for each one of these senses in order to keep and take care of them.
