Abstract

This study aimed to identify the status of governance application in the municipalities that belong to Amman from their employees’ perspective and to reveal the differences in the respondents’ responses about the governance standards according to the study’s variables . A simple sample consisted of 181 employees was chosen. To achieve the study’s objectives, the analytic descriptive approach was used. The most significant results were as follows: 1- The status of the status of governance application in the municipalities that belong to Amman from their employees’ perspective was moderate (65.67%). 2- Accepting the hypothesis: “there were no statistical significant differences at the level of significance (a≥0.05) between means of the fields of governance standards in the Jordanian municipalities from their employees’ perspective attributed to the gender and number of training courses in governance variables. 3- Rejecting the hypothesis and accepting the alternative one : “ there were statistical significant differences at the level of significance (a≥0.05) between means of the fields of governance standards in the Jordanian municipalities from their employees’ perspective attributed to scientific qualification variable in favor of the moderate diploma holders and the years of experience variable in favor of employees with less than five years of experience The researcher recommended the following: 1) Municipalities pay more effort and following up to the latest issues concerning the application of governance standards. 2) Spreading the governance culture among the municipalities councils’ members that helps in enhancing the employees’ performance efficiency. 3) Enhancing the transparency principles through improving the qualitative and quantitative aspect for data and information via the municipalities’ websites.
