Abstract

The science of the assertion of the veracity and competence of the narrators of Prophetic Hadith is one of the most important sciences of Hadith. This research (Alhareth Alawar and Jaber Aljaafi between documentation and contestation) is an example of that. Alhareth Alawaribn Abdullah bin Ka’eb Al hamadani Abu Zuhair is one the followers (Tabiin) who were famous for telling the pure Sunnah. He learnt and received from a collection of noble Prophet’s companions and narrated from a mass of narrators and some refrained narrating from him. This research aims to study his personal life starting with his pedigree, his class, his scholastic teachers and disciples and the sayings of the scholars of Impingement and Validation about him and his relation with Deceit. The researcher has reached the result that he has no relation with Deceit as his students used deceit on his behalf. The accusation of his disciple Al shabi of being liar was not absolute but to accuse him lying in his opinion not his saying. On this account, the authors of Al-Sunan relied on his sayings and accepted his narrations. The biography of Jabber Aljafi has followed the same approach. The researcher has concluded that he was notorious for Deceit, therefore, his narrations are not accepted unless declared of hearing. In addition to Deceit, he was weakened by his belief of Raja’a (the return of Imams) and being a fanatic Shiite. Yet, he can be accepted for the sake of learning a lesson as stated by Abu Hatim Alrazi.
