Abstract

Indeed did Allah confer [great] favour upon me to complete this research, in which I dealt with the topic of “The ahaadeeth of the reciting of Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) in optional prayers (nawafil) by collecting, investigating (takhreej) and studying.” I divided it into eight topics, which I started with recitation of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) in qiyaam al-Layl, then Witr prayer, then Sunnah prayer before Fajr, then Duha prayer, then the two rak'ahs of tawaaf, then Sunnah of Maghrib, then Eid prayer, then the eclipse prayer. His nature required that the researcher should follow two approaches: the first is the method of extrapolation and tracking. I have followed this approach, reaching out to the ahaadeeth on which the research is based, and explaining the words of the scholars, if any, according to the meanings of these narrations, and talking about it in terms of knowledge and narration. Second: Critical approach, by which I reached the ruling on the ahaadeeth, using the rules of criticism, such as Al-Jarḥ wa l-taʿdīl (criticism and praise), in short. Finally, I concluded this research with a summary in which I mentioned the summary of my findings in the research. I recommended researchers in the Sunnah to extract its treasures in all fields, including the prayer of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) and its description, and to draw the semantics and lessons from them, so as to find out the guidance of the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him). Then resources and references.
