Abstract

This study is concerned with studying the disagreement of the scholar Alwi Bin Saqqaff Al-Jefri to what is relied on al-Shafi'i school and knowing its reasons. It presents the book "Explanation of Omdet Assalik" composed by the scholar Alwi Bin Saqqaff Al-Jefri choosing the chapter of Prayer as a methodological example of this study. The study is divided into three chapters. The first chapter determines the term what is relied on al-Shafi'i school, presents the disagreement conditions, and introduces the book of Explanation of Omdet Assalik and its author. The most prominent issues that the scholar Alwi Bin Saqqaff Al-Jefri disagrees with what is agreed on regarding the chapter of prayer in the school are demonstrated in the second chapter. The third chapter shows the reasons behind the disagreement of the scholar Alwi Bin Saqqaff Al-Jefri to what is relied on the school. It becomes clear to the researcher that the disagreement of the scholar Alwi Bin Saqqaff Al-Jefri to what is relied on the school in many issues has its purpose as evidenced by al-Shari'ia evidences and his commitment to follow the disagreement's standards and rules. This indicates his extreme scientific mentality and jurisprudential stability of al-Shafi'i school and his non-intolerance of the school. The researcher recommends the graduate students to study the issues that the Islamic jurists of Hadhramout disagree with what is relied on the school and their jurisprudential selections. They should conduct a deep and investigative study of a lot of jurisprudential books of Islamic jurists of Hadhramout particularly and Yemeni jurists generally.
