The studies on independent learning as well as the rewards of technology present valuable ideas for modern teaching theories and practices. Independent and autonomous English language Learning through the Internet is playing a vital role in modern English language learning especially with the diversity of environment and method of English language learning. It creates a fundamental challenge to the traditional learning approach, and also is forwardness. This paper is meant to determine the impact of Internet on language learning and extent to which Internet can influence English language learners' achievement in learning English as a foreign language. It also reveals that independent English language learning through the Internet facilitates the improvement of the English level,  as well as explains the possible relationship between student satisfaction and online learning suggesting the most efficient strategies of independent English learning through the Internet.

Both Quantitative and Qualitative methods are adapted in the present survey study. The participants of the study are 121 undergraduate students randomly selected to determine how does new technology including internet usage effect their learning strategies and to know the problems that face the Yemeni learners of English language through the internet. The results of the research show that in general, only about half of the respondents used internet resources to learn English. Moreover, all of the respondents are satisfied and have agreed that this strategy is useful to learn English language.
